Forest Haven transitions beyond a nostalgic approach to the countryside, the rural, and the landscapes that encompass produce, questioning stereotypical meanings. The project investigate existing non-urban environments and explore the hidden potentialities of the landscape as a resource to uncover the radical and emancipatory dimensions of rural communing and the architecture that emerges from it.

The project aims to unpack the current socio-economic forces at work and at play in the countryside to better understand and reimagine the role of the built environment. We often think of homes to be our sanctuary and Safety, but this project arises as an invitation to embrace the unusual, to embrace discomfort.
